San Miguel de Allende 2024

My heart is full after soaking up endless colour and beauty in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, on retreat with Abstract Bliss Retreats – with Mati Rose and Faith Evans-Sills, and an amazing group of creative, soulful women. The retreat included 6 days of making art, connecting with creative souls, and immersing ourselves in San Miguel's artful culture. My brother gifted me some extra days in San Miguel before and after the retreat, creating the perfect book-ends to my getaway.
It’s so important as artists, women, and humans really, to step out of our usual routines and comfort zones and let new perspectives in. To create freely without any end-product in mind, to remember what it’s like to put colour on paper for the joy of it. To wander and let your environment leave an impression on you, rather than rushing through it to get somewhere else. To leave spaciousness in your days, and rest when your body asks you to. To meet new people, share stories and relate, and maybe see the world through different eyes for a minute. To be refreshed, renewed, and remember all that you love about the life you’ve built, and to reflect on what you want to change. It’s such an important act of self care to carve out experiences just for you.
That’s what I did on this retreat, and it's still rippling out. This group of women, of all ages and places in life, were such a wonderful circle to share it all with.
