City in Bloom is a whimsical love letter to springtime in Vancouver — pink bikes, blooming streets, cozy cafés, and slow days imagined in pastel colours. Inspired by neighbourhood wanderings, and the simple beauty of supporting local, it captures an aspirational version of everyday life: the kind where you linger over tea with dear friends, wander tree-lined streets, and carry home flowers in your bike basket.

Ornate shop windows nod to Parisian charm, while blooming flowers, chalk-drawn sidewalks, and sun-soaked cats and dogs celebrate the simple pleasures that return after a long winter. Cherry blossoms drift through the air like a promise of brighter days, and it feels like a slow weekend morning. 💕

This piece was dreamed up in my cozy and bright attic studio—a sanctuary where paper, fabric, paints and half-finished ideas spill across every surface. I drew and painted digitally using Procreate on my iPad, sipped tea along the way, and paused for slow strolls through the neighbourhood. It became my ideal spring morning — blossoms drifting overhead, shop windows glowing, and neighbourhood life unfolding gently in bloom.
